*In water shallower than 18″, the leg can be placed on the outside of the dock. This will allow you to raise the leg above the dock surface to accomodate shallow water. Leg kit measurements are calculated with the bottom of the dock 11″ out of the water. If you plan to have the dock higher or lower out of the water, add or subtrack that amount to the depth measurement.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is a sectional dock used for?
A sectional dock is used to provide stable waterfront access for boats, swimming, fishing, and recreational activities. It is a modular system that can be configured based on shoreline shape and personal needs.
Is a sectional dock good for lakes with changing water levels?
Sectional docks are best for lakes with stable or only slightly changing water levels. If water levels fluctuate significantly, a floating dock may be a better option because it adjusts automatically with the water.
How does a sectional dock differ from a floating dock?
A sectional dock sits on adjustable legs and is ideal for stable shorelines, while a floating dock moves up and down with water levels. Sectional docks are easier to store and reconfigure, while floating docks handle deeper or fluctuating water conditions better.
Are sectional docks easy to install and remove?
Yes. Sectional docks are designed for seasonal use and can be installed or removed without heavy equipment. Their modular design allows individual sections to be connected or separated quickly.
Can I customize the shape of a sectional dock?
Yes. Sectional docks are fully modular, allowing you to build straight docks, L-shaped layouts, T-shapes, or custom configurations depending on your waterfront space and usage needs.
Are sectional docks durable enough for long-term use?
Yes. FLOE sectional docks are built with high-strength, corrosion-resistant aluminum designed to withstand seasonal waterfront conditions and provide long-term reliability.
Do sectional docks require maintenance?
Sectional docks require minimal maintenance. It is recommended to inspect connections, clean surfaces, and store sections properly during the off-season to extend lifespan.
Can sectional docks support boat docking safely?
Yes. When properly installed, sectional docks provide stable support for boat docking, loading, and unloading in calm to moderate water conditions.
What type of shoreline is best for a sectional dock?
Sectional docks work best on gently sloping or stable shorelines with firm lake bottoms where seasonal water level changes are minimal.
Can a sectional dock be expanded later?
Yes. One of the biggest advantages of sectional docks is their modular design, which allows you to expand or modify the layout as your waterfront needs change.
